In 1984 at an age of 23 Hans Henning Rottbøll took over Børglum Kloster and two years later he was married to Anne Fuglede Jørgensen. The couple manages the 437 hectares of land belonging to the manor house as regular agriculture with the emphasis on plants. Furthermore, the Rottbøll family has 4000 m2 of exhibition rooms with historical and artistic exhibits.
Here the tradition bound Christmas weekend takes place where there is opened up into every private living room. Anne and Hans and their 4 children live in all of the abbey’s 85 rooms. They happily share the cultural heritage they are charged with managing with the local area and the many tourists from in and out of country.
